For those who require them, dental implants can greatly enhance their health and quality of life. Complications, however, can occasionally arise. Problems may arise shortly after the implantation of a dental implant or much later.
Implant failure, which is typically characterized as implant loss or looseness, is possible outcome of certain problems. If an implant fails, the implant system may need to be repaired or replaced surgically.
Advantage
Dental implant systems' advantages include:
- Restores the capacity to chew
- Helps prevent the jawbone from shrinking as a result of bone loss
- Restores its aesthetic appearance.
- Maintains the surrounding bone and gums healthy.
- Helps maintain the stability of neighboring teeth
- Enhances life quality Dental Implant Systems.
Possible disadvantage only if fail are among other:
- Implant placement-related harm to the neighboring natural teeth
- Surgery-related damage to the surrounding tissues, including a sinus perforation
- Surgery-related injuries (such as a fracture of the adjacent jawbone)
- Inadequate performance, such the sensation that your teeth do not bite together properly
- An abutment screw loosening could cause the tooth to feel loose or twist in place.
- Patients with uncontrolled diabetes may be more susceptible to systemic infection, which causes implant body failure (looseness of the implant body);
- Patients who smoke may be more susceptible to local infection in the bone and gums supporting the implant body, which causes delayed healing.
- Poor oral hygiene due to difficulty cleaning the gums surrounding the implant
- Periodontal disease left untreated numbness following surgery brought on by nerve injury or impingement
