Hi-Tec implant restoration in the mandibular first molar region (1)
Abstract
Objectives and Background
In order to restore normal contour, function, and aesthetics, missing teeth must be restored since they cause structural imbalance, inefficient function, bad aesthetics, and psychological affects on people. Since ancient times, a variety of synthetic and natural alternatives have been employed to replace lost teeth. The newest replacement technique is implants. Therefore, the goal of the study was to evaluate the clinical success rate of the novel and affordable Hi-Tec implant. The study's findings will assist clinicians in choosing the right implants.
Materials and Procedures
Ten patients, ages 19 to 31, who required replacement of their missing mandibular first molar were included in the research. Following three months of osseointegration, restoration was completed utilizing Hi Tec single-tooth implants with metal-ceramic single-crown prosthesis. For six years, the implants were assessed radiographically (peri-implant radiolucency and marginal bone loss) and clinically (bleeding on probing, probing depth, and implant mobility-periotest). To avoid bias, the observers were blindfolded for the length of the investigation.
Results
Every patient recovered from surgery without any problems. During follow-up periods, there was no bleeding on probing, implant mobility, peri-implant radiolucency with little marginal bone loss, and consistent probing depths that were all well within the normal range.
Conclusion
Two stage single-tooth Hi Tec implant restoration can be used as a successful treatment modality for replacing mandibular first molar in an economic way. However, these results were obtained after 6 years of follow up with a smaller sample size, so long term multi center studies with a larger sample size is recommended for the predictability of success rate conclusively.
Summary
Study on Hi-Tec Implants for Mandibular First Molar Replacement
Objectives and Background:
- To evaluate the clinical success rate of the Hi-Tec implant, a new and affordable replacement technique.
- The study involved ten patients aged 19 to 31, who required replacement of their missing mandibular first molar.
Materials and Procedures:
- After three months of osseointegration, restoration was completed using Hi Tec single-tooth implants with metal-ceramic single-crown prosthesis.
- Implants were assessed radiographically and clinically for six years.
Results:
- All patients recovered without problems.
- Follow-up periods showed no bleeding on probing, implant mobility, peri-implant radiolucency, little marginal bone loss, and consistent probing depths.
Conclusion:
- Two-stage single-tooth Hi Tec implant restoration is a successful treatment modality for replacing mandibular first molar economically.
- Long-term multi-center studies with a larger sample size are recommended for more conclusive success rates.
